Two Years...

Z & E turned 2 yesterday. They've learned so much this past year - how to walk, words (many, many words), they can name all the letters, they can count to 10, they can sing the alphabet song (in English and in French) - they actually know a ton of songs and books all the way through (It's not Easy Being Green, Brown Bear Brown Bear, Green Eggs and Ham, Happy Birthday, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Twinkle Twinkle, Sweet Baby James, Rainbow Connection, ...) They have pretty advanced palettes - although they love noodles with meat sauce, they also really like black bean soup, toast with cheese, french toast, muffins of any sort, dark chocolate (they scarfed a bunch of 55% bars the other day), mac 'n' cheese (E will eat it with anything (like pumpkin) mixed it, Z won't - except for spinich), anything I"ve made that's been braised for a while (stew, pot roast etc), meatloaf (which has become their first joke. It goes like this:
Z "Lilo"
us "What does 'lilo' mean?"
E "Zachy says Lilo"
us "yes, but what does Lilo mean"
Z "meat loaf" (much laughter)

Potty training is starting - Z likes to sit on the potty immediately after he pees (and has once or twice actually peed in the potty - although once he sat their so long that when he stood up he immediately peed on the floor). E now demands to get changed the moment she's wet her diapers, so we're taking that as a good sign.

Can't wait to see what this year brings!
